MOYER STILL LEADING WOOLMS
POINTS...
May
5 --- The Billy Moyer Racing team trekked north last
weekend to compete in a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series events
in the Show-Me State of Missouri. Round one of the weekend took place
on Saturday night, May 3 at the I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri and
a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs. Billy Moyer was third quickest
in WOOLMS qualifying and later finished second in his heat race. After
drawing a number seven prior to the 40-lap main event, Billy was able
to advance four positions en route to a third place performance behind
winner Shannon Babb and runner-up Rick Eckert.
The
dirt-slinging action quickly turned to the Monett Speedway in Monett,
Missouri on Sunday, May 4, as a $7,000 winner's check awaited the victor.
The driver known as "Mr. Smooth" was sixth fastest in time
trials and later won his heat race. After once again drawing a number
seven in the redraw, Billy was running in the fourth position on lap
27 when he shredded a right rear tire. The Batesville, Arkansas native
retired from the race and was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fourth
place finish. Despite the problems on Sunday at Monett, Billy is still
leading the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings. You can view

DURING 'COLOSSAL 100'
April
21 --- Following the big victory
at Lernerville, the Billy Moyer Racing team trekked south to the Dirt
Track at the Lowe's Motor Speedway in Concord, North Carolina for the
3rd Annual 'Colossal 100.' The World of Outlaws Late Model Series once
again sanctioned the action at the state-of-the-art Charlotte-area venue
over the weekend. Billy Moyer paced the stout field in WOOLMS qualifying
on Friday night, April 18, as he set a new track record by laying down
a lap of 14.672 seconds around the 4/10-mile oval.
Later on Friday, Billy earned a convincing heat
race victory, which transferred him directly into the $50,000 to win
A-Main on Saturday, April 19. After drawing a number twelve prior to
the 100-lap main event, Billy rolled off from the outside of the sixth
row for the 'Colossal 100.' He hung around the top ten throughout the
race and was running in the sixth position on lap 64 when he stopped
on the track to draw a caution flag because his car’s hood began
to flap up due to a broken hood pin. After not returning to the track,
"Mr. Smooth" was relegated to a disappointing twenty-first
place performance. You can view full results online at www.worldofoutlaws.com! |
