After several years of wrenching on his dad's familiar #21 machine, Billy Moyer, Jr. got behind the wheel of his own #21 car early in the 2006 racing season. In one of his first starts, the driver quickly becoming known across the country as "Kid Smooth" won his first A-Main at the Poplar Bluff Speedway in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. In his first season of competitive Dirt Late Model racing, Billy, Jr. has raced against some of the best drivers in the country in a variety of World of Outlaws Late Model Series events and high-profile shows like the 'Show-Me 100' and the 'Topless 100.'
