Billy Moyer Earns Podium Finish in Season Finale at Magnolia Motor Speedway!

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team closed out their version of the 2011 racing season on October 28-29 at the Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi! The 8th Annual 'Cotton Pickin 100' was held over the weekend at "The Mag" and a $15,000 top prize was on the line. Billy Moyer timed in second fastest in his group during qualifying on Friday night and later won his heat race.

After starting from the outside of the second row in the 100-lapper on Saturday evening, Billy quickly made his way to the front of the stellar field by passing leader Jonathan Davenport for the point on lap 39. The Batesville, Arkansas Hall of Famer then held the lead until lap 65 when Davenport went back around his #21 to grab the top spot following a caution period. Billy's car was never the same after the caution and he slipped back to third in his season finale to finish behind only winner Jonathan Davenport and runner-up Shane Clanton. Now that the 2011 campaign is in the books for the #21 team, Billy can celebrate what was an outstanding season. The driver known as "Mr. Smooth" entered sixty Dirt Late Model events in 2011 and racked up fourteen wins, thirty-six Top Fives, and forty-six Top Tens. Billy's biggest victory was his eighth 'Magnolia State 100' title, as he won a hefty $20,011 at the Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on September 23-24.
