| October 9, 2009 Billy Moyer Sets Sights on DTWC Following Runner-Up Effort at Knoxville! (BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer and his #21 Dirt Late Model team ventured to the infamous Knoxville Raceway in Knoxville, Iowa last weekend for the 6th Annual 'Knoxville Late Model Nationals.' The crown jewel event was tabbed as a three-day extravaganza, but Mother Nature had other ideas. Instead, this year's version of the 'Knoxville Late Model Nationals' was shortened to a one-day, $40,000 to win show on Sunday afternoon, October 4. In preliminary action on Sunday at the 1/2-mile Marion County facility, Billy timed in ninth quickest during qualifying and later ran third in his stacked heat race. The Batesville, Arkansas native later started the 100-lap main event from the outside of the fourth row. In front of the cameras of the SPEED Channel, Billy advanced up to the second position and challenged Scott Bloomquist for the lead and the win in the late stages of the 'Knoxville Late Model Nationals.' At the end of 100 grueling laps, "Mr. Smooth" wound up second to Bloomquist in the $40,000 to win affair. The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team has elected to take the October 9-10 weekend off from Dirt Late Model competition, but they are actively prepping their equipment for the upcoming 'Dirt Track World Championship.' The prestigious crown jewel event will take place over the October 16-17 weekend at the Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, Indiana. The winner of the 100-lap main event next Saturday night will receive a cool $50,000 payday.
