| August 31, 2007 (BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing team will head to Illinois and Ohio this weekend for a trio of Dirt Late Model events, starting tonight, August 31. The Farmer City Raceway in Farmer City, Illinois will play host to the 'Farmer City 50' tonight and a $5,000 top prize is up for grabs. A 50-lap feature event will highlight the racing activities tonight at the storied facility. On Saturday, September 1, the action will turn to the Fairbury American Legion Speedway in Fairbury, Illinois for the annual running of the 'Prairie Dirt Classic.' The prestigious UMP event will pay $10,000 to the winner tomorrow evening at Fairbury. The tripleheader weekend will conclude on Sunday, September 2 at the famed Eldora Speedway in Rossburg, Ohio. The American Late Model Series (ALMS) will sanction a $2,000 to win show on Sunday at the "Big E," which will serve as a final tune-up prior to the 'World 100' on September 7-8. Billy Moyer and his #21 team are coming off a lone weekend event, which saw them compete at the Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on Saturday evening, August 25. Billy timed in sixth quickest for the annual 'James King Memorial' and later rolled off from the outside of the third row for the A-Main. Early in the $5,000 to win feature event, "Mr. Smooth" climbed to the third spot and set sail for the leaders. However, his battery shorted out under caution and caused him to retire from the event in the nineteenth position. You can read more about the Southern Regional Racing Series-sanctioned event online at www.columbusspeedway.net. "In thirty years of racing, I have never had a battery short out on me like that," commented Moyer on Thursday. "I have heard about it happening to other people, but have never experienced it personally until last weekend at Columbus. We had been fighting it for awhile now and had looked all through the car for the problem, but never thought to look there."
