| June 16, 2009 Billy Moyer Claims $10,000 Top Prize at Kankakee; Looks Ahead to Farley and Farmer City (BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing (BMR) team helped kick off the 2009 version of the UMP DIRTcar Summer Nationals tour last week, as they traveled to three different tracks in Indiana and Illinois from June 11-13. On Thursday, June 11 at the Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana, Billy Moyer won his heat race before winding up sixth in the final rundown of the $6,000 to win main event. At the Kankakee County Speedway in Kankakee, Illinois on Friday, Billy once again won his heat race prior to leading all forty laps of the A-Main. The driver known as "Mr. Smooth" worked the bottom of the fairgrounds venue to perfection en route to the $10,000 triumph over Matt Miller, Brian Birkhofer, Shannon Babb, and Rodney Melvin. The tripleheader weekend for the #21 team was scheduled to conclude on Saturday, June 13 at the Kamp Motor Speedway in Boswell, Indiana. However, Billy chose not to compete in the $10,000 to win event citing poor track conditions following an afternoon thunderstorm. "I wish our car was a little better at Brownstown, but we changed some stuff on it Friday that made it much better at Kankakee. The car was fantastic on the bottom of the track and I just tried to keep driving a smooth line each and every lap. I was looking forward to racing at Kamp as well on Saturday, but Mother Nature dealt us a little curveball. It was a bad deal for the fans with some of the drivers choosing not to race because of the track conditions, but I believe we made the right call by loading up."
