Billy Moyer Heads to Wheatland for 'Diamond Nationals' this Weekend!

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing team trekked north last weekend to compete in a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series (WOOLMS) events in the Show-Me State of Missouri. Round one of the weekend took place on Saturday night, May 3 at the I-44 Speedway in Lebanon, Missouri and a $10,000 top prize was up for grabs. Billy Moyer was third quickest in WOOLMS qualifying and later finished second in his heat race. After drawing a number seven prior to the 40-lap main event, Billy was able to advance four positions en route to a third place performance behind winner Shannon Babb and runner-up Rick Eckert.

The dirt-slinging action quickly turned to the Monett Speedway in Monett, Missouri on Sunday, May 4, as a $7,000 winner's check awaited the victor. The driver known as "Mr. Smooth" was sixth fastest in time trials and later won his heat race. After once again drawing a number seven in the redraw, Billy was running in the fourth position on lap 27 when he shredded a right rear tire. The Batesville, Arkansas native retired from the race and was relegated to a disappointing twenty-fourth place finish. Despite the problems on Sunday at Monett, Billy is still leading the latest version of the WOOLMS point standings. You can view complete results online at www.worldofoutlaws.com!

Billy and his #21 team will look for additional success on May 9-10 in Missouri. The 2nd Annual 'SuperClean Diamond Nationals' will take place this upcoming weekend at the pristine Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, Missouri. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series and the O'Reilly MLRA Series will co-sanction the mega-event, which boasts a $40,000 top prize.

Qualifying will kick things off on Friday night, May 9 at the state-of-the-art speedplant. A complete lineup of heat races, consolation events, and the 100-lap 'SuperClean Diamond Nationals' will then headline the program on Saturday, May 10. The cameras of the SPEED Channel will be on hand to tape all of the exciting action for broadcast later in the year.
