Billy Moyer Returns to Brownstown Victory Lane!

(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer and his #21 team traveled north to the famed Brownstown Speedway in Brownstown, Indiana on Saturday evening, March 31 for the tenth annual 'Indiana Icebreaker.' The event drew 72 of the best Dirt Late Model drivers in the country, but the Batesville, Arkansas native was up to the challenge and registered his third win of the 2007 season! Billy, who made his first trip to the south-central Indiana oval in several years, took the lead from teammate Shannon Babb on lap 46 of the 75-lap A-Main and held off Steve Casebolt, Jimmy Owens, Babb, and Josh Richards to record the $10,000 payday.

The Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame driver known as "Mr. Smooth" won his heat race and drew a four prior to the start of the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series feature event. He then rolled off from the outside of the second row for the A-Main and fell back to fifth in the early stages of the race. However, his Banner Valley Hauling / J&J Steel / Karl Chevrolet / McCarthy's Heating and Air Conditioning / Car City #21 Rayburn / Pro Power machine got better and better as the race progressed and Billy was able to put his car into Victory Lane in front of the standing room only Brownstown crowd!

"Brownstown is a place that has been awful good to me throughout my career," commented Moyer, who now has fourteen career victories at the Jackson County Fairgrounds venue. "The track has changed some in recent years, but I have always loved competing at Brownstown ever since I started racing. It was a good race up front with (Shannon) Babb, (Steve) Casebolt, and a couple of others, but this new C.J. Rayburn car really handled flawlessly. Ever since we debuted this car a few weeks ago at Kentucky Lake, it has been pretty fast hotrod."

The Billy Moyer Racing team will take one of the rare opportunities throughout the racing season to compete in front of their hometown fans, as they will invade the nearby Batesville Speedway in Locust Grove, Arkansas this coming weekend. The O'Reilly SUPR Series will sanction a pair of events at the Batesville area facility, kicking off with a $1,250 to win show on Friday, April 6. A $2,500 top prize will then be up for grabs in Saturday's finale at the 3/8-mile, high-banked oval.
