(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing team unloaded a new C.J. Rayburn chassis over the weekend at the state-of-the-art Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky for the annual 'Early Bird Classic.' Billy Moyer qualified well on Saturday afternoon, March 17, as he timed his familiar #21 entry second fastest in his group. After a disappointing fourth place performance in his heat race, the driver known as "Mr. Smooth" rolled off from the seventeenth position for the $10,000 to win A-Main. At the drop of the green flag, Billy pointed his new racecar towards the front and started to begin his march through the field. After fifty green flag racing laps, the Batesville, Arkansas native was credited with a strong runner-up finish to winner Steve Francis in the unsanctioned feature event!

"We qualified well with the new car, but then missed the setup for the heat race," quoted Billy recently via telephone. "I was disappointed after the heat race, but we made the necessary adjustments to the car to get it right for the feature. The track was better than it has been in the past, so I was able to pass some cars and get up through the field. I just needed some more laps to try and run down (Steve) Francis, but we just ran out of laps."

Billy and his #21 team will head to Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama this coming weekend for a trio of 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series events. The Baton Rouge Raceway in Baker, Louisiana will be stop number one on the weekend, as they will host a $10,000 to win show on Friday night, March 23. The action will then turn to Johnny Stokes' Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi on Saturday evening for another $10,000 to win event. The busy tripleheader weekend will conclude on Sunday, March 25 with a $7,000 to win 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series show at the North Alabama Speedway in Tuscumbia, Alabama. You can learn more about each of these three events online at www.worldofoutlaws.com.
