| March 18, 2009 Billy Moyer Runner-Up in Deep South Opener; Brownstown Up Next! (BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) The Billy Moyer Racing team trekked to the Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Alabama over the March 13-14 weekend for a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series events. After suffering motor problems during Thursday's practice session, Billy Moyer agreed to drive one of Tommy Weder, Jr.'s #02 Victory Circle by Moyer racecars in Friday's $7,000 to win show. The Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer, aside from seat adjustments, felt right at home in one of his own creations. Billy timed in eighth quickest in WOOLMS qualifying and later ran a strong second in heat race action. The Batesville, Arkansas native then drew the outside front row starting spot for the A-Main and paced the stout field for the first eighteen circuits around the lightning quick oval. After being passed by Steve Francis for the point, Billy wound up following Francis to the checkered flag to record a runner-up performance in the 40-lap affair. The two-day 'Showdown on the Gulf' was scheduled to culminate with a $12,000 to win finale on Saturday evening, but Mother Nature unfortunately had different plans and the show was rained-out.
