| March 12, 2009 Billy Moyer Heads to Deep South Following 'March Madness' Weekend at KLMS (BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer and his famed #21 team invaded the pristine Kentucky Lake Motor Speedway in Calvert City, Kentucky over the March 6-7 weekend. The annual 'March Madness' program was on tap at KLMS and two separate Dirt Late Model events were held on Friday and Saturday. In the $5,000 to win opener on Friday, Billy qualified well and later won his heat race to earn the inside second row starting spot for the 30-lap A-Main. The driver known as "Mr. Smooth" sported a great racecar during the feature event and wound up a strong runner-up behind winner Jeep Van Wormer. On Saturday evening, the Billy Moyer Racing team unloaded their #21 Victory Circle by Moyer entry hoping to contend for the $7,500 top prize. Billy once again qualified at the top of his group and won his competitive heat race. After rolling off from the pole position in the 40-lap main event, the Batesville, Arkansas native paced the stout field for the first fourteen circuits. He was passed by eventual winner Jason Feger and Shannon Babb, but was heading towards a third place finish before engine problems struck on lap 35. Billy was forced to retire from the unsanctioned event and was credited with a disappointing sixteenth place effort. The BMR team has decided today to trek south to the Deep South Speedway in Loxley, Alabama on March 13-14 for a pair of World of Outlaws Late Model Series races. The doubleheader weekend will kick off on Friday night with a $7,000 to win event, while Saturday's finale boasts a $12,000 top prize.
