(BATESVILLE, ARKANSAS) Billy Moyer recently returned home from competing in the annual 'Wild West Shootout' at the Central Arizona Raceway in Casa Grande, Arizona. The driver known throughout the Dirt Late Model community as "Mr. Smooth" took his #21 MasterSbilt chassis out west with fellow Arkansas racer Jack Sullivan for the five-race mini-series. However, only four races got in the books, as the $7,500 to win 'Wild West Shootout' finale was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions.

The Batesville, Arkansas native had a strong week-and-a-half in Arizona, as he was able to post one Top Five finish and four Top Ten efforts. Billy's best performance out west came in what turned out to be the final race on Saturday, January 20. He finished second in his heat race from near the tail of the field, which put him on the outside pole for the $3,000 to win A-Main. With the track turned one-lane, Billy lost the drag race at the drop of the green flag and wound up following polesitter Brad Looney throughout the race. When the dust had settled, the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Famer finished second to Looney in the 30-lap event.

Below are Billy's finishes from the 'Wild West Shootout' at the Central Arizona Raceway. You can read more about all of these races online at www.centralazraceway.com and www.latemodelracer.com.

Saturday, January 13 | $3,000 to win - 8th
Sunday, January 14 | $5,000 to win - 9th
Wednesday, January 17 | $3,000 to win - 6th
Saturday, January 20 | $3,000 to win - 2nd
Sunday, January 21 | $7,500 to win - Rained Out

"I went out there to learn some stuff on this MasterSbilt racecar and I think I accomplished that," commented Moyer today via telephone. "The numbers I drew all week were horrible and I had to start each heat race from near the tail. But, we still made the most out of the tip out west and learned some stuff about the car. I am glad I decided to go out there even though the weather was terrible. Hopefully, the weather will be a littler nicer when we head south next week to race in Georgia and Florida."

The Billy Moyer Racing team is now gearing up for their annual February trek to Georgia and Florida for "Speedweeks 2007." Billy and his #21 team will invade the Golden Isles Speedway in Brunswick, Georgia for three Dirt Late Model events from February 1-3. Following the three shows in southern Georgia, they will head south to the East Bay Raceway Park in Gibsonton, Florida. The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will sanction six shows at the Tampa area oval from February 5-10. Their busy "Speedweeks 2007" campaign will conclude with six more Dirt Late Model events at the Volusia Speedway Park in Barberville, Florida from February 12-17. Both UMP DIRTcar Racing and the 360 OTC World of Outlaws Late Model Series will sanction events at the Daytona Beach area venue.
